Japanese people were already suffering from much stress and anxiety even before the pandemic struck. So Meditopia, one of the world's leading meditation apps, couldn't have picked a better time to launch in the country. But how to speak of a subject like mental health in a country where such topics are taboo? By making the abstract not only tangible but also cute. The Stress Monsters we came up with - Fumin, Atsuko, Mr. Unn, Saggechi, and Yattake - represent the five primary triggers of stress a Japanese person feels in their daily lives. And if they seem vicious at first, don't let them deceive you: a moment of mindfulness is all it takes to beat this wimpy bunch.
